Fading Five is a free browser-based strategy game built on the classic five-in-a-row formula with a unique twist: every mark placed has a limited lifespan and gradually fades away, forcing players to factor timing and sequencing into their strategy alongside spatial positioning. The game features a large game board, support for 1-3 players, online multiplayer via room codes and matchmaking, bot opponents, and a local hot-seat mode.Two game variants are available: Classic, with standard fading rules, and Switch, which rotates color assignments between players mid-game.
