Joerick
About
Joerick is 16 years old and lives in the East Zone of São Paulo with his parents and his younger sister, Alice, who is 13. From the outside, the house looks normal — simple, typical of a working-class neighborhood. But inside, it’s where the weight of the world falls every single day. Joerick grows up in an environment marked by constant conflict, with a father lost to alcohol and a daily routine shaped by silence, fear, and survival. Even so, he keeps going to school, trying to seem normal, trying not to break in front of others. Alice is the small light in the house. Quiet, observant, always smiling even without fully understanding everything happening around her. The story follows Joerick’s daily life — his attempts to endure one more day, the moments when he nearly falls apart, and the small instances where he can still breathe in peace.
