You play as Robert Lopez, a freelance photographer with a talent for uncovering unsettling stories. On your way to a remote assignment, a violent storm forces you to take shelter in a rundown roadside hotel. The uneasy clerk barely speaks, but a newspaper headline on the counter catches your eye: “Colorado Cannibal Another Victim Found Still No Suspect.” Your room is cramped and suffocating. The hum of an old computer lingers as you cancel the shoot and try to rest. But when you wake, the storm is gone. The hotel is silent. And something feels very wrong. Beyond its story, The Colorado Cannibal introduces new gameplay elements not found in the base game. These include a distraction system introduced in Chapter 2 that allows you to manipulate enemy behavior and expand your survival options. Combined with a full campaign lasting roughly one to two hours, the mod delivers a tense and replayable experience that builds on the foundations of Outlast while offering something new for fans of survival horror.
